What the name means

In Chinese, sine is the sine curve — a quiet nod to how a car actually moves.

  • Braking distance, following space, and a stable line through a corner.
  • The work itself is ordinary: teach people to drive steadily and safely on New Zealand roads.

Who we teach

We match the stage you are in. Usually, one lesson is enough for us to see what should come next.

  • People who have never held a wheel.
  • People who can already move a car but freeze in Auckland traffic.
  • Restricted and Full candidates.
  • Overseas drivers who need NZ give-way, not another set of pedal drills.

Who teaches

Every instructor holds the NZTA Instructor (I) endorsement.

  • Henry (牛教练) is chief instructor: NZTA Instructor (I) endorsement holder, physics master’s, and former physics and maths teacher.
  • Lynn (童教练) is bilingual, automatic and manual, with a slower manner for anxious beginners.
  • Say if you would rather a male or female instructor. We will try; diaries are often full.

Between lessons

Current students can use SafeInNZ at no extra charge.

  • Road Code, wrong-question review, scenario items, test-area notes.
  • An AI theory tutor and a supervised-practice logbook.
  • The website is for rules. The lesson is still an hour on the road.

Lesson format

Beginners

We start from what you can actually do that day. Quiet streets until control is stable, then school zones, hills and ordinary junctions. A busy test centre is not a shortcut.

Restricted and current Full practical

Lessons follow VTNZ marking: observation, give-way, speed, merges, and immediate-fail errors. Under the NZ graduated system, the Full practical test remains only until 24 January 2027; overseas licence conversion is a separate process.

Overseas conversion

We assume you can already drive. Time goes to NZ priority, roundabouts, motorway joins, and habits that fail experienced drivers here — hugging the centre line, cutting corners, hovering over the stop line.

Hours and pick-up

Monday to Sunday, 8:00–16:00. Earlier or later slots can sometimes be arranged. Pick-up is possible; travel time sits inside that lesson hour.
